Chocolate Covered Potato Chip Snack Mix

These buttery crispy potato chips dusted with chocolate and sprinkled with M&M’s and mini marshmallows are the perfect sweet and salty treat.

My husband is a big fan of sweet and salty treats. Today I’m sharing a fun mix I tried on him over the weekend. The whole family loved it! It’s the perfect balance of sweet and salty that makes it so delicious and seriously addictive.

I think this treat would be a big hit at parties. Customize the spread and you can make it work for all kinds of different holidays. Red and green candy for Christmas, candy corn for Halloween, red and blue candy for the Fourth of July…you get where I’m going.

I added M&M’s and mini marshmallows to mine, but you can top yours with anything that sounds good to you. Here are some ideas:

Peanut butter cups or Reeses bars
Caramel pieces
Crushed Heath Candy Bars
Melted peanut butter chips
Sprinkles

To melt chocolate chips, I put them in a plastic bowl in the microwave, roll them for 30 seconds, then stir. Microwave for another 15 seconds, then stir again. Repeat until the chocolate is smooth. Usually it takes less than 1 minute of the total microwave time. Be careful! If you overheat the chocolate, it will stick or burn.

Spread potato chips on a large cookie sheet so that they are only one chip deep. It’s the same concept as making nachos… wide and deep so that each piece can get toppings on it. You can also use a large serving dish as the chips won’t be baked or anything.

I prefer milk chocolate chips so that’s what I used, but if you’re a dark chocolate lover that would be great too!

This snack is ready to serve when the chocolate hardens. You don’t need to bake it or anything.
